Pinnacle Entertainment Group has released a free preview of Petersen Asylum to mark the final days of the Deadlands: Mysterious Maze Kickstarter. The campaign ends on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at 2 a.m. BST, and has already raised more than £109,000 against a £5,906 goal. The new asylum was built after the previous hospital in Lost Angels was destroyed by fire. Dr. Darius Hellstromme financed construction of the facility, which overlooks the Great Maze. The preview reveals the location's sinister secrets and introduces some of its staff ahead of the full release.Deadlands: Mysterious Maze requires the Deadlands Core 2026 rulebook and updates California within the Weird West setting. The sourcebook will run for 180 pages and depicts a coastline fractured by a devastating earthquake and the flooding that followed the gold rush. It also includes more than 40 new cryptids and monsters, along with 30 Savage Tales set in Donner Pass, Death Valley and the coastal ruins. The expansion also features two campaigns. Curse of the Maze Queen follows a poker tournament held in 1884 aboard a luxurious riverboat. Participants compete for the Heart of Darkness diamond while facing rivals and environmental hazards in the flooded waters of the Maze.Red Tide, meanwhile, is a 96-page hardcover campaign that brings Dracula to the Pacific coast, following his path of revenge between Seattle and the ruins of Lost Angels. Shane Hensley describes the adventure as brutal for veteran heroes and experienced players: if the posse fails, the Pacific coast will run red with blood. The campaign uses an all-or-nothing funding model. Physical rewards are expected to ship in July 2027, while digital tiers start at US$ 50.
