Chaosium will release RuneQuest: The Apple Lane Campaign in October, an adventure campaign designed to introduce new players and Game Masters to the mythical world of Glorantha. The book revisits one of RuneQuest’s classic entry points, originally created by Greg Stafford.

The story takes place after the war between the free peoples of Sartar and the feared Lunar Empire. In a three-part campaign, a group of adventurers comes together to defend the village of Apple Lane. As the journey progresses, the characters can make the settlement their home and eventually take charge of the community.

The book includes encounters set across Sartar, an old-school random encounter table and adventure hooks for every possible result. The campaign also features additional content to continue the story after the main adventures, including situations involving a talking baboon and a sentient singing cake ball.

For Game Masters, the book compiles information on the Colymar tribe, important figures in Sartar, and details about Apple Lane and its surroundings. Rumors, dungeons, mysteries, maps and adventure hooks expand the possibilities for groups that want to follow their own paths from the village.

Additional rules cover Glorantha’s rune metals and magical crystals. The maps and supplementary materials are designed to help establish Apple Lane as the hub of RuneQuest adventures.

RuneQuest: The Apple Lane Campaign requires the RuneQuest Rulebook. The campaign can also be expanded with Lands of RuneQuest: Dragon Pass, Lands of RuneQuest: Sartar and the Cults of RuneQuest series.

The book will be approximately 128 pages long. The hardcover edition, which includes a PDF, will have a suggested retail price of US$39.99, while the digital version is expected to cost around US$19.99. It is scheduled to arrive in October.
